Netflix Clone

An interactive React web app mimicking Netflix

An interactive React learning project that recreates a streaming-style browsing experience using third-party API data, reusable components, and a fully custom interface.

Project Overview

I created this Netflix-inspired application to deepen my practical understanding of React rendering, component architecture, API integration, and custom front-end styling. The experience presents dynamic media content through familiar browsing patterns while remaining a clearly identified independent learning project.

What I Built

  • Built the interface with reusable React components.
  • Integrated third-party APIs to load and display dynamic media data.
  • Created custom CSS for the complete visual presentation and layout.
  • Implemented interactive browsing behaviour and state-driven rendering.

Development Challenge

The main challenge was coordinating asynchronous API data with a component-based interface while preserving smooth, predictable rendering. The layout also needed to handle changing content gracefully instead of relying on fixed text or image dimensions.

Technical Approach

I organized the application into reusable React components, mapped external API responses into consistent interface patterns, and used state-driven rendering to update content. Custom CSS provided the streaming-inspired visual system without relying on a prebuilt component theme.

Outcome

The finished project demonstrates hands-on experience with React, API-driven interfaces, reusable component design, and custom front-end styling. It also shows how I use focused personal projects to strengthen skills that transfer to production development.
