Portfolio Case Study

Bibelot

WooCommerce Store with Custom Content Architecture

A custom WordPress and WooCommerce store built with PHP and a structured content architecture to support intuitive product discovery and maintainable catalogue management.

Project Overview

Bibelot needed an online store that could organize varied product content clearly while supporting a straightforward shopping experience. The WordPress implementation required scalable product relationships, consistent presentation, and an editorial structure that remained practical as the catalogue evolved.

My Contribution

  • Built custom WordPress and WooCommerce functionality with PHP.
  • Implemented Custom Post Types, taxonomies, and category structures.
  • Organized product content to support clear browsing and consistent presentation.
  • Created maintainable templates and content patterns for ongoing store updates.

Development Challenge

The primary challenge was balancing a flexible product catalogue with a simple customer journey. Product data needed to remain structured for editors while categories and related content had to feel natural and easy to navigate for shoppers.

Technical Approach

I used WooCommerce for the commerce foundation, custom PHP for project-specific WordPress functionality and templates, and Custom Post Types with taxonomies to create clear content relationships. This structured approach supported consistent product presentation and practical catalogue maintenance.

Outcome

The finished store provides visitors with a clear product-browsing experience while giving content managers a scalable system for maintaining products and categories. The project demonstrates custom WooCommerce development beyond a default store configuration.
